At a photocall to announce details of the fundraising initiative and highlight their new Flogas-sponsored jerseys were: l/r Glenda Carter, Tom Wall, local Flogas sales representative, Gerry Hodgins and Marissa Toner.

Leaflets will be distributed door to door and posters will be placed around the town in the coming weeks. All people have to do is ring the number on the leaflet and the cylinders will be collected by a club member. The club plans to build its new boathouse alongside the Boyne Fisherman’s Rescue and Recovery Service (BFRSS) on the Marsh Road. The photocall also marked the end of a very rewarding season for the club.

Marissa Toner, PRO for the Inver Colpa Rowing Club, said, “This season we entered the All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships in Waterville for the second time and qualified for the finals with a mixed crew from Vartry Rowing Club in Wicklow. We placed 6th out of 14 entrants, a great achievement as we were the smallest represented club in the championship.”

The club is now looking forward to a busy 2015, the highlights of which will be the hosting once again of the Boyne Boat Race next June during the annual Maritime Festival; competing at the Dalriada Rowing Regatta in Antrim in July followed by the All-Ireland Championships at Waterville in August and the Barrow Rowing Race in September.
