Frequently asked questions about moving house

I am moving property or want to close my account, what do I need to do?

If you are moving house or want to close your account you can do one of two things:

Complete the relevant online form:

Moving Out / Close My Account

Moving In / Open My Account

OR

Follow these 3 simple steps:

  • Call us on 041 214 9500 seven days before you move out - just have your account number and GPRN and/or MPRN to hand.
  • Provide us with a forwarding address.
  • Finally, we will need a final meter reading.

If you cannot provide us with a final read, we will need to agree an estimated reading between us or grant Gas Networks Ireland and/or ESB access to lock the meter(s). The charge for Gas Networks Ireland locking the meter is €68.88 (Inc VAT). Read about ESB Networks charges here.

If you cannot meet the requirements above, you may be charged a special administration fee of €60 in order for us to attempt to obtain a read and close your account.

Please bear in mind that you remain liable for all natural gas and electricity consumed until such time as you inform us you are leaving the premises and provide/agree to a final meter reading or give access to lock the meter.

If you have the name of the incoming occupant(s), we will be happy to take the name from you and note it on our system (but this is not required to close your account).

What form do I fill out when moving out?

Flogas have a form for tenants moving out of a Flogas metred property. You will need:

  • Your account number
  • Your GPRN and/or MPRN
  • Your forwarding address
  • A final meter reading
