Flogas Green Energy to Power GIAF Festival Garden

Celebrating three years as renewable energy partner to the Galway International Arts Festival, Flogas solar energy will be powering the much-loved Festival Garden, making its hugely anticipated comeback in 2022.  With over 500 writers, artists, performers and musicians from America, Asia, Australia and Europe, its 2022 programme is its largest and most ambitious programme to date! This really is going to be a Galway Arts Festival to remember.

The Flogas solar-powered garden is open from 10 am to 11 pm in Eyre Square from 11 – 24 July. Visitors can also check out the Flogas stand for festival freebies. And, through the process of micro-generation, any unused electricity generated by the Flogas solar energy panels in the Garden will be fed back into the grid for use elsewhere throughout the festival.

What's on?

  • Heineken® Big Top

The Heineken Big Top is back with an unmissable line up of performers, such as The Pixies, The Stunning, The Frames and many more! Tickets can be purchased directly over at https://www.giaf.ie/festival/events but keep an eye on our socials to be in with the chance of winning some freebies!

  • The Festival Garden

The Festival Garden returns this summer with great food and drinks, occasional DJs and live sets from guest artists. The Festival Garden is a great new space for artists and audiences alike to come together to enjoy the chilled out atmosphere and join in the celebration. And this year it is all powered by solar energy courtesy of Flogas!

  • Festival e-Wheels!

Following a terrific response last year, Flogas & Brite Mobility have once again saddled up to deliver a larger fleet of festival e-wheels. Organisers, artists, accredited staff and ticketholders can now zip around Galway city free of charge on thirty-five carbon-neutral e-bikes during the festival run.
